Product Description

Now there's a ladder as versatile and hard working as you.

You want safety. You want strength. And of course you want versatility. That's why millions worldwide have chosen the Little Giant Ladder System.

The Original Multi-Purpose Ladders
Little Giant is the world's finest ladder, combining the strengths of traditional A-frame ladders, extension ladders, stepladders and even scaffolding, all in one convenient package. Click here for a comparison chart of all of our Little Giant Ladders.

Safety

The Little Giant is designed to be the safest ladder on the planet. Since it's adjustable, the Little Giant can be used safely on stairs, ramps, curbs, docks or other uneven surfaces. And, with the new patented triple-locking hinge, the Little Giant Ladder is sturdier than ever in the extended position.

Strength

The Little Giant is made of heavy-wall, 6005-T5 aluminum, the very same material used in aerospace construction. So it's ultra-strong while remaining light and portable.

In fact, The Little Giant Type 1A is government-rated to hold up to 300 pounds, but has survived brutal stress testing of up to 1200 pounds with absolutely no structural failure.

Versatility

No other ladder gives you the versatility of a Little Giant. Independent tests prove the Little Giant will replace 60-70% of all portable ladders currently being manufactured.

When you buy a Little Giant, you're not just getting one ladder. You're getting 24 different ladders combined to make the world's most versatile ladder system. Plus, the addition of easy roll wheels makes your Little Giant easy to maneuver and store.

Little Giant Type 1A Features:

  • NEW: Patented Triple-Locking Hinges
  • NEW: Tip & Glide Wheels with models 17, 22 and 26
  • Heavy-wall aircraft-grade aluminum construction
  • Rated to hold up to 300 lbs.
  • Combines 24 different ladders into one convenient ladder system
  • Lightweight and portable
  • Complies with all applicable OSHA & ANSI A14.2 standards
  • Includes a full Lifetime Warranty

Little Giant Ladder Configurations:

Type 1A A-Frame Ladder
A-Frame Ladder
With a simple click of the patented hinge, the Little Giant can be used as a traditional A-Frame ladder.

Type 1A Staircase Ladder
Staircase Ladder
Because it's adjustable in one-foot increments, the Little Giant allows one side of the ladder to be extended allowing safe use on uneven surfaces like staircases, curbs or docks.
Type 1A 90 Degree Ladder
90° Ladder
Traditional ladders make working close to walls nearly impossible. With the Little Giant, one adjustment allows you to safely work against any vertical surface.
Type 1A Extension Ladder
Extension Ladder
For large projects the Little Giant easily converts to a stable extension ladder allowing you to reach rooftops, tree limbs and more with ease.
Type 1A Scaffolding Ladder
Scaffolding
Since the Little Giant pulls apart to form two scaffold trestles, you just add the Little Giant work plank (sold separately) to form a convenient scaffolding system.

  • A reason why my dad is awesome! Review by Tanis
    Value
We bought our Little Giant Ladder about 10 years ago. I was 14 then and thought "yeah it's cool, but it's not like it's gonna get used." Sure enough, my family used it maybe about 3 times since we've owned it. We just didn't have any jobs for it. So, for about decade, it's collected dust, but I never forgot the demonstrations and using it a few times around my home. I recently got a job as a construction painter, and the ladder we borrowed was VERY dangerous. Our client refused to let us use it because it was so unstable and ready to break. I called my dad, and used my little girl voice "daddy... can we borrow the L.G Ladder?" That ladder probably saved our lives today. I can't believe it. That thing turned into everything we needed, and my father GAVE IT TO ME! Just got a new job, and my boss loves me. If it wasn't for that ladder we would not have been able to get as far as we did today. It's a lifesaver. If you're a contractor, painter, construction worker - whatever - if you're going to be on a ladder at any point of your job on a regular basis, GET THIS LADDER! It's well worth the price, and if it wasn't for my dad going "this might be useful in the future" someone might have been seriously hurt today. Thank you Little Giant, you guys are awesome!

This 26' lader is as strong as it gets, no other ladder can hold up these standards! It's is heavy duty and can hold a large frame man with tools or what ever has to carried!
  • Awesome product. Review by Jack G.

I'm a home inspector. I have used my other Little Giant hard every day for 17 years. I just decided to retire my old one out of respect and years of loyal service. I wanted to frame it and hang it above the mantel, but my wife wouldn't let me. Awesome product. Whoever said they don't build things like they use to doesn't own a Little Giant. Jack G.
  • This should be the only ladder making company! Review by Blondet

Own one NOW! You'll never regret it. My wife, who is skeptical with anything taller than 2 feet, loves the assurance this ladder gives. Easy to handle, outstanding storage ability, and as sturdy as you can imagine. So glad I finally made my purchase. Having cathedral ceilings, am so looking forward to my next project. A+ and more!

My father uses this ladder and his boss before him bought it over 20 years ago. I use it now and it still works great and use it several times a day. We have used it so much that the ridges on the steps have worn out. We will be ordering a new one in a couple of weeks. We all use it for garage door repair business and have been very pleased with its performance. Thank you Little giant for making such a great product!
  • Big enough to pour concrete Review by Chip
    Value
Purchased in Chicago at Home and Garden Show 1996, used around the house, then moved to Missouri and built a house. Poured concrete into forms from the extension, the concrete washed off and the ladder used for all ladder and scaffold work to finish the exterior and interior including dry wall mud and painting on two floors. My two professional concrete and framers were amazed with the robustness and ease of use. I won respect and saved a pile of dough.

Simply the best ladder ever built. I've owned mine for almost 7 years, its great because it doesn't take up much space in the back of my truck so I can carry more tools vs a normal ladder. You certainly do pay for what you get. Its not like you need to buy one every day ethier. Get it once and I'm sure it will outlast you!

  • safety and reliability Review by Vince Moscato
    Value
I have the little giant 1A classic model 22. I have had extention ladders "run" on me and it isnt a pleasent feeling as your holding on and looking at the ground coming towards you. After that I was "snake bit" of extention ladders. With the L.G. I have no fear of hights any longer nor do I fear that it will "run" on me. If you have a fear of heights or extention ladders then this is the ladder for you. I have given away all the other ladders I did own and the L.G. is the only ladder in my garage today and will be for the rest of my life. Some say they are to expensive. I say what is money when it comes to your safety or the safety of others. It pays for its self every time I use it because I know with it and common sense I will finish the job and I will be safe doing it. Thank you Little Giant Co.
  • its great very safe Review by Arby

i built a house and when i got to the inside with 16 foot ceiling believe me this ladder is great i had the extra piece that lets you set your tools or use as a step it save time and i felt very safe for i had broken my leg falling off roof before. every one should have these ladders i do not even use my other ladders and i have 3 heavy duty fiberglass regular step ladders. Its a little heavy but worth it but i got the longest one available.
  • Best Ladder ever Review by Cathy Reed
    Value
We purchase the Little Giant Classic Model 22 20 years ago and it still functions like new. It has been a great investment . It is light weight, very versatile and safe. I have used it to clean gutters, trim trees, paint and put up ceiling fans. I wouldn't have anything else. Now I am buying a Model 26 for my son because he has a two story house and this is the only ladder I feel safe for him to own. Thanks, Little Giant for a wonderful, safe, long lasting piece of equipment.
  • Only Ladder I will use! Review by Brian Jones
    Value
I purchased the 22 and love it. Every year I am putting up a 50,000 Light display for Halloween and Christmas. Borrowing a regular ladder from the neighbors and had to many close calls of the ladder falling over while I am on it. Sometimes during the season there is snow on the roof lights and I have to go up there to clear them off. This year my wife said to get the little giant. What, my wife said to buy something that is expensive. Say it isn't so. This little Giant is amazing. The little giant don't wobble like the regular ladders. Its firm, sturdy and reliable and best of all, no wondering if I am going to fall. Putting up the lights has never been easier. I put it into the platform and walked back and forth in front o f the gutters. The A frame at the highest setting is stable. Had the lights up way faster than before. Love the fact that you can drop one side down and walk right up to the top of the roof. I never let my kids on any ladder before now. I feel so confident in this ladder I let my kids climb on the ladder to help string lights. Now the neighbors ask to borrow my little giant. Well worth the money for this ladder. I will never use another ladder again. Looking forward to getting up on the roof this year.
  • Outstanding Tool Review by Paul
    Value
I can't say enough good things about my 22. My wife bought it for a Christmas present a few years ago. I always thought the price was high, but it paid for itself in one project of removing old wall paper from a staircase. The initial wall paper project took two ladders and a makeshift scaffolding. With the Little Giant, the wall paper removal, wall cleaning, and painting the work was a cinch. I've used it in the 9 food A frame and full extension. and it makes work easier vs my 28 foot extension ladder and multiple step ladders. The leveler and platforms are a great addition, as is the wheels that I added after about a year. It will be one of the things specified in my will along with some family (tool) heirlooms.
  • Bought (2) 22' for work Review by Bobbogolfnut

I just love these ladders. I bought (2) 22' type 1A ladders to install patio covers. They are the strongest and sturdiest ladders you can own... wouldn't trade them for anything else. Just bought a 24 in 1 19' for the house. Way to go little giant!! You have the best ladders money can buy!

I'm a disabled person with no nerves in my right leg, but beleive it or not i can use a Little Giant Ladder because of its stability. I usually have help putting it up but I can stay on it no problem. Cant stop trying to do things around the house that need fixing, without it I'd have to hire someone. Great Ladder

  • long time LG user in the Air Force Review by Douglas Hornick
    Value
I've been a fan of the Little Giant ladders all my 20 years in the Air Force. We used them to reach avionics and radio equipment and wiring in the upper parts of our aircraft. I always thought that once I retired from the military and get my own house I am going to get a Little Giant of my very own. I will be making that purchase very soon. Thank you very much Little Giant.
  • Best investment I have ever made Review by Don Dickson
    Value
I bought my Little Giant in 1996 at a Home & Garden show and knew it was worth the price. I had just bought a home with a 2 story stair case and this was the only way I could access that area. Well I brought it home and from the very first time I used it I knew it was the perfect ladder for me. Regretably I had taken my ladder to use on a job and someone stole my baby. Now I am here to buy my next and hopefully last Little Giant. What a great simple invention. There are many knock offs out there now but I will stay with the original.
  • What more could you want in a ladder system ! Review by Michael Haas
    Value
I purchased my Model 26 type 1A ladder at a home show this year where Little Giant had a booth. I did my research and this model met all of my needs and more. With my Little Giant Model 26 I can safely clean all my gutters, paint every room in the house including a 2 story entry, and replace the bulbs in a chandelier that hangs 18 feet from the floor... partially over a staircase. This is the ONLY ladder I found that could do it all and it is saving space since I only have one ladder now and it stores at just 6'7". Pinch me I'm dreamin !

I have had the model 26 ladder for a week now, I also have one Gorilla ladder that is smaller. You can see the quality of the LG ladder when you put them side by side. Yes, the LG ladder is heavier, but I do not want to stand on the lightest ladder available.

Anyone who has ever climbed a flimsy ladder knows how scary things can get when your 8 to 12 feet off of the ground, and that cheap ladder starts to "Wiggle" with you on it. My wife and I are both RNs and I worked on a Orthopedic unit. I can't begin to tell you how many people I had as Patients who came in with terrible injuries, including terribly broken legs because they fell off of a cheap ladder! (I dont like to climb ladders because of the injuries I have seen. I did the research ,and after a Little Giant Rep had another guy and myself (Both Big guys) Climb a Little Giant AT THE SAME TIME at a home show today... This ladder was as Solid as a Rock!! Very well constructed product. I ordered my M26 Today. Why the 26 instead of the 22? Because I like to have ladder in front of me to hold on to even when only 8 or 10 feet up! Thanks!
  • Marco Island Fl. Review by Steveo G

The Little Giant 1A 22. Wow, now this is some ladder! I purchased I look-a-like cheep ladder three months ago. It was very hard to use, real light weight and to tell you the truth I was worried when I had to use it as A extention ladder. The last straw with the cheep look-a-like ladder was I tried to fold it up for stoage and the hinges buckled and I could not get it to move, but brute force and standing on the opened end of the a- frame the hinges buckled and snapped. Now I am A big dude around the 225 lb. I don't think A ladder at any price should be so weak. My wife and I saw the infomerical for the little Giant and what the heck and got one. What A ladder system, oh so strong and easy to use. Well worth the price we paid. I took all of the four other ladder I owned and gave them to friends & coworkers. Little Giant this is the only ladder I will ever own. Thanks so much for you super great products!!!!!!!!!!!

I put this to work as soon as it arrived. I purchased this so I could put up Halloween and Christmas decorations/lights on my flat roof home. I have the Model 22. What a great investment. I happened to run across a sales rep. at a local Costco who was doing a demo for some customers. I couldn't say enough good about this ladder!! I didn't feel that way on my neighbors huge ladder. I have recommended this ladder to everyone who speaks of getting one. I sold all my old ones at a yard sale!! I also just moments ago purchased the Wing Span so you know I am hooked! This one ladder does it all for me. I also use it when cleaning the fans and upper cabinets in my home/kitchen. Enough said!!

I own the model 22. I had to send this. I am 65 years old. Very afraid of heights and climbing ladders. Well with my model 22 I feel so confident and safe that now I climb to levels I never did before. I have the wheels, two work platforms, the stabilizer and the work aluminum planks. Thank you and best regards

Best ladder I ever had. The key word here is "had" (for several years). Someone else wanted it and stole it from me and I need to get another one. Hope they made good use of it.

Having been both a construction foreman and an aeropsace engineer, my experience and expectations demand high quality tools which are often hard to find. I purchased the Model 22 about 5 years ago, have used it on every home project imaginable, and each time I use it I still am amazed what a superior product function this incredible ladder provides. Rugged, durable, and ADAPTABLE to every work situation with safety and stability. If mine ever wears out, I will buy another the next day, because I can't imagine being without it now!

I saw the infomercials and laughed. I'm not laughing anymore. This is my ladder of choice now. It is truly incredible. It has taken the place of all but my largest Extension ladders. Everyone on jobsites are asking questions. And asking to try it out. I hope this brings you more success in the future.
  • Big Pine Key, FL Review by Rick Christenson

I received my M17 Type 1A in Dec 1987; this ladder has worked flawless for 18 years. My ladder has been asked to do some very strenuous work over the last 18 years, it has some bumps & dings and some paint splattered on it, but continues to function the way it did 18 years ago. The worst damage my friends and I could do to this ladder was to knock one of the orange plastic rung end covers off and chip one other one. The new models have a redesigned hinge system that will make this ladder easier to fold. How are you going to find anything better? I just learned of the accessories available for this ladder and I will be ordering them soon.
  • Greenback, TN Review by Wayne Clark

I purchased the M17 a little over a year ago & it has become the only ladder I use, now. I do finish carpentry, which involves crown mold & hanging cabinets. The Little Giant ladder has proven itself time & again, to be the perfect "tool" for these installations, using the scaffolding feature of the ladder. The only regret I have, is I didn't purchase the walk-board at the same time. That will be rectified shortly.

After watching the Little Giant infomercials for over a year, I decided to purchase the ladder and accessories. Purchasing over the internet was very easy. The quality is simply outstanding and the weight & feel of the ladder has to be experienced. Everything works exactly as shown on TV. The ladder has great functionality and wish I had purchased this ladder many years ago. I will no longer be using my 6' and 8' wooden step ladders anymore.
