Ladder Safety Month
The American Ladder Institute (ALI), the nation’s not-for-profit ladder association comprised of the leading U.S. ladder manufacturers and manufacturers of ladder components, has declared March as National Ladder Safety Month.
Every day 2,000 people are injured while using a ladder, 100 suffer a long-term or permanent disability, and one person will die in a ladder-related accident. Three of OSHA’s top 10 violations in 2015 were related to falls, and in the specific category of construction violations – improper ladder use was #3.
In fact: Ladder-related accidents by homeowners and DIYers are having drastic effects on families throughout the nation. Fall-related accidents a worksite account for one of the largest expenses to many organizations.
For many companies, ladder-related incidents are the single greatest injury and lost-time expense. Reducing the number of ladder-related injuries has become a top priority for the nation’s foremost companies, and Little Giant is leading the charge.
New improved training techniques and prevention through innovation are helping organizations save time, money, and, most importantly, lives. Little Giant’s over-riding goal is preventing injuries and saving lives.
In short, getting that one-person home safely to family and friends is why we do what we do. To that end, during National Ladder Safety Month, Little Giant will be conducting hundreds of ladder safety trainings throughout the country and highlighting new and innovative ladders to solve specific problems for homeowners and professionals alike.
